We will talk about the most important events that shaped Brno:
the Swedish siege, the time when products from the local textile factories were literally exported all over the world and the expulsion of Brno's Germans after the Second World War.
You will also find out how the Brno city dialect originated, why there is a phallus on Freedom Square and why the bell rings at 11 o'clock in Brno.
Together we will pass by all the important sights and places in the Old Town:
St Peter and Paul's Cathedral, the Old Town Hall, Freedom Square, St James' Church, the Vegetable Market and many others.

Brno Villas:
Architecture Tour
On our architecture walk we start in Lužánky, once the Jesuit garden and today Brno’s largest city park. We pause at Schodová, one of the city’s most photogenic streets, then continue a little further to Villa Löw-Beer, Villa Tugendhat and Arnold Villa.
We focus on the exteriors and tell you the stories of their owners and renowned architects, and how the Černá Pole villa quarter took shape here.
Our tour ends in the linked villa gardens, where you can sit down at one of the cafés and relax.

Kamenka:

Kamenka was founded over 100 years ago, when the first workers from a nearby brickyard began building their homes at the bottom of a former quarry. Over time, it grew into the largest workers' colony in Brno. Today, Kamenka is an idyllic and hidden corner of the city, where artists have replaced factory workers. Their presence has shaped the area into a truly unique place with a strong and creative genius loci.
During the tour, we’ll explore the history of workers’ colonies, discover the story of Kamenka, and get a glimpse of everyday life here - past and present. Along the way, we’ll meet local residents and artists who give this district its unmistakable charm, visit an original workers’ cottage, and step inside creative spaces like the stained glass workshop Atyp.

Villa Tugendhat is world-famous – and often booked up months in advance. But Brno’s remarkable Functionalist architecture has so much more to discover.

Built in 1932 by architect Heinrich Blum for the Jewish Wittal family, Villa Wittal offers a rare glimpse into Brno’s architectural heritage – and into the lives of the people who once called it home.During this German-language guided tour, you’ll enter the villa, explore its distinctive architecture and uncover the moving story of its former residents. The tour is organised in cooperation with the Brno City Museum.

Villa Wittal is located in the elegant Masaryk Quarter, renowned for its outstanding interwar architecture. Here, crisp Functionalist lines meet graceful curves, generous expanses of glass and distinctive architectural details, giving the villa a character all of its own.

The villa was built as a home for the Jewish Wittal family, who were able to enjoy their new residence for only a few years.
The upheavals of the 20th century profoundly affected the family and left their mark on the history of the house.
This makes the tour about much more than architecture: it is a chance to discover the personal stories, hopes and destinies hidden behind Brno’s modernist façades.
